What drives me every day – is life. I experience it as precious, worthwhile and meaningful. We’re given this one life – which should be happy and awesome.
I’ve known hardship in my life, and I know what it does to your psyche, your goals and your dreams. Hardship taught me that it only gets turned around if you take the first step. That involves reaching out to getting started towards where you want to be.
When that moment arrives, you realise that you’ve had enough, that something has to change, that you really want things to be different. It’s when you want to reach out for everything new: possibilities, ideas, energy, meaningfulness! You realise you want a better job, or move on after a relationship, or really need to think differently about an issue that has been holding you back your whole life.
I know what that feels like. This is what I am about and why I believe it can be the same for you once you reach out to change.
I emigrated to Belgium from South Africa and found myself having to adapt to a new culture with its own languages and customs. And a very different mindset. It rattled me in many ways. I know what it means to be deprived of your loving support system of close friends and family back home. I also know how hard it can be to find your feet and create your own happiness and fulfilment in a different setting.
Having studied Political Science and Development Studies before, followed by a career in a corporate environment, journalism and volunteering, my new experiences changed my view on how I want to live my life. I decided to return to university to study Psychology and then joined the Animas Centre for Coaching.
I went through my own transformation cycle and I know that whatever life throws at you, you can rise above it and lead a happy and great life!
